Dev79 & Starkey’s experimental grime imprint Slit Jockey Records are currently prepping their 50th release from new Insert favourite; Ultraviolet. ‘Castelo’, featuring Papi Squad’s Rainey on vocals, is a good example of the young producer’s ongoing project to try and expand the palette of sounds available to forward-thinking dancefloors.

Starkey’s remix on the B-side is a brutal decimation of Ultraviolet’s original. His deconstructed take on ‘Castelo’ ends up sounding like a nightmarish trap tune with heavily bit-crushed sound design and a brooding low end arrangement.

‘Castelo’ (SJD050) is available from 2nd November digitally.
